If Only Ronnie'd Followed Through...

This came via an email from my friend Jacqueline. It's a passage from Reagan's diary:

'A moment I've been dreading. George brought his n'er-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida; the one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.'

Entry dated May 17, 1986.

Let's hear it for The Land of Opportunity!

Comments:
Lulu--Double check this one. I heard it was circulated as an April Fool's joke so it may be bogus.

Real or not, it's funny. The picture of younger George (I swear he looks like MAD magazine's Alfred E. Newman- What me Worry?)

However, I find it disturbing, it would appear not one of them is wearing a flag lapel pin!

They must be communists, or unamerican.

Oops--you're right. I Googled it and it was written by Michael Kinsley:

Thanks,

I think that was an actual passage from Reagan's book. I seem to recall hearing about it when the book first came out.
At any rate, whoever penned that assessment of Bush was spot-on.

bush had a job ????
